Eric Dahlin Memorial Scholarship

Eric Dahlin has been a pillar of the Connecticut musical community, as cellist with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra for 37 years and as a teacher to many generations of young cellists. His contributions to the Simsbury Schools was a gift to all who knew him.

Simsbury Friends for Music and Performing Arts has set up a merit scholarship to be awarded to senior music students at the Spring Awards Program. Your donation will go directly to this fund. Students will be chosen based on merit and their contributions to the Simsbury Music Department.

Alice Li Benefit Concert Update

Alice and her family are overwhelmed by the outpouring of kindness and love from all the supporters, even many who remain anonymous. The March 1st Benefit Concert generated over $13,000 from tickets, food and bake sales, well-wish cards and donations on GoFundMe.  Anyone who prefers to donate by check may make it payable to Simsbury High School with “BeLIeve in Alice Fund” in the memo line. Benefit Concert Planned For Simsbury Teen Violinist Recovering From Hemorrhage

Alice Li was about to start her junior year and was looking forward to being a member of the chamber orchestra and taking on AP English. But the weekend before the first day of class, Alice suddenly suffered a brain hemmorhage and faced a dire prognosis.

Composer’s Circle recently did a write up on Composer Ryan Jesperson and featured Ryan Ford’s performance of BA(da)SS.

BA(da)SS Played on Vermont Radio Station

BA(da)SS, composed by Ryan Jesperson and played by Ryan Ford, was played on July 29, 2014 on WRUV, a radio station based out of Burlington VT.
